Category Description:
Walls Only The walls-only log home package includes all the logs for the outside walls, incl. fasteners. Roof beams and staircases may be added. Structural Shell This package includes everything that's in the walls-only package, plus all components necessary to keep the weather out, such as exterior doors, windows, and the roofing system. The Complete PackageComplete packages also includes interior components required to finish log homes. Such items include interior walls, stairs, closets, interior doors and trim.
There are several different solutions to natural wood shrinkage, and air and water tightness. About the only thing common to different "makes" of log homes is that they are all made from large pieces of timber. Several different tree species can be used to produce logs for a home, depending mainly on where the home is to be built. Some popular woods are White Pine, Cypress, Western Red Cedar and Spruce. However, more are probably built from Southern Yellow Pine than any other species.
